The Diving is Heating Up!
Things are a heating up and the diving is getting intense ....the Great Hammerhead has been seen almost daily on the Vandenberg wreck off Key West and sandbar sharks are lurking in the depths just beyond your sight.
Diving in the Keys is awe inspiring....
You’ll witness tarpon rolling in the harbor while hammerhead sharks attempt to feed on them.... you’ll see the bright coloration of the “Sponge Spawn” on a full moon. A word of caution, as the Gulf Stream moves closer in currents can pick up at a moment’s notice.... Be especially careful when diving the outer reef, as the current can change and you’ll find yourself going the wrong way.
‘Tis the season for night dives
This time of year brings the absolute best action you’ll see.... as the sun sets and the waters darken, change occurs.... Yes, the predators lurk but you will see the amazing biolumince. Yuuup it’s a light show underwater, give it a try and experience it for yourself.
No passport required!
If you don’t think of Key West as an ultimate dive destination, think again because it’s all here, within your reach, right here in the USA. You can never be guaranteed a great dive but if and when you pay attention... you never know what you’re gonna see, and when you see it, it’s a spectacular brief moment of marine life, gone in the blink of an eye.
